Brew City Legends Move Up To MLIS

“The Brew City Legends are growing again. The fifth year organization today became the sixth team announced for Major League Indoor Soccer's inaugural season.
"We decided to join MLIS because of the platform it will give our players," said Legends owner Denzel Pettigrew. "People like (MLIS Senior Advisor) Craig Rhodis and (Chicago Mustangs founder) Armando Gamboa have been around the indoor game for a long time and want to grow the indoor game the correct way."
The Legends took the amateur Premier Arena Soccer League by storm in 2018-19, winning the Great Lakes Division regular season title in their first season. In 2020, the Legends hosted the PASL Men's and Women's Great Lakes Division All-Star Games. In four seasons, the Legends have seen six players move up to the Major Arena Soccer League.
Last year, the Legends partnered with the Cincinnati Swerve on a joint M2 pro team called Brew City Swerve. This year the Swerve and Legends will now be rivals at the pro level for the first time, in what promises to be one of MLIS's first rivalries. The Legends have also crossed paths with the Cleveland Crunch and Chicago Mustangs over the last four seasons.
"The goal of this team is to help develop soccer in Milwaukee and provide an outlet for those talented players to reach a professional level," said Pettigrew. "Our ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between exhibition soccer and professional soccer, as well as to give back to the community, and help kids learn about the sport of soccer. We are doing that every season and look forward to continuing to help these players accomplish their dreams."
Brew City will play their six regular season home games at Uihlein Soccer Park.
